The holiday break was nice and relaxing but it could have been a little nicer had I not waited in the freezing cold for 7 hours to not end up with the new xbox. Yep, that’s right 7 hours I waited out in front of Toy’s R’ Us only to go home empty handed, that was a long night. It started out at about 10:30 pm Monday night when I was getting ready to head out to Wal-mart to check out the madness. I got there to find that they were going to do a raffle for the 40 ( 20 prem. 20 core ) xbox 360’s. So I get in line… get my ticket… and wait… and wait… and wait. Its 1:30 am and 40 numbers have been called, but not mine… “ Thanks for shopping at Wal-mart, have a nice night” ... ( hit read more for rest of story )
On the way home I go drive by toy’s R US to see 3 people sitting at the front door…Man these people are crazy I think to myself… I go home and go to bed. 20 mins of tossing and turning, I can’t sleep. The wife tells me to go get in line…. I leave the house. When I get back to Toy’s R Us there are now 4 people in line. All with chairs and one with a cooler. Everyone makes small talk for couple hours, we then all agree to wait inside our cars to keep warm being there are only 5 of us ( its about 30 degrees out ) After a few rounds of getting in and out of the cars 5:00 am rolls around, people start showing up for work. The drop dead tired feeling goes away. Its getting closer. 6:00 am rolls around, the manager shows up and lets the 5 of us wait inside and gave us some doughnuts, what a nice manager. 7:00 am, more people start showing up to wait in line, lots more. 8:30 am, there are about 30 people in line and the manager goes and tells the people at the end of the line that she doesn’t have that many systems and there is no point in waiting… line goes back down to 10 people. The manager brings out the purchase tickets, asks who’s first in line, they take a premium system… along with the 2nd and 3rd place in line. ( I’m 5th remember ) 4th place in line “I’m sorry, we only have core systems left” I go home and go to bed, with no xbox..
